First clarifications and examinations

What is infertility?

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after one year of regular, unprotected intercourse.

If you are over 35, we recommend scheduling a consultation after just 6 months of trying to conceive, as fertility naturally declines with age.

Time requirement

To complete the necessary fertility assessments, most women require two to three doctor visits.

  • The menstrual cycle plays a key role in fertility evaluation.
  • Keeping a menstrual calendar for several months can provide valuable insights for diagnostics.

Key Clarifications and Tests

A thorough fertility assessment includes:

  • Comprehensive consultation – a detailed discussion of your medical history and lifestyle factors.
  • Hormone analysis – checking reproductive and metabolic hormone levels.
  • Ultrasound examination – assessing the uterus and ovaries.
  • Fallopian tube and uterine cavity testing – using contrast media to check for blockages.

Possible Causes of Infertility

Many factors can contribute to difficulties in conceiving. Some of the most common causes include:

  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Thyroid dysfunction (hyper- or hypothyroidism)
  • Ovarian or fallopian tube damage due to infections or previous surgeries
  • Endometriosis and fibroids – conditions affecting the uterus and ovaries
  • Congenital abnormalities of the reproductive organs
  • Immune system disorders affecting implantation
  • Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) – a common cause of irregular cycles and ovulation issues
  • Advanced Maternal Age (AMA) – natural age-related decline in fertility

Your Personalized Consultation

Once your diagnostic results are available, we will discuss them with you in detail and provide:

  • A clear explanation of the findings
  • Personalized recommendations for treatment options
  • A realistic assessment of your chances of pregnancy

We believe in honest, transparent, and supportive care, ensuring you feel informed and empowered throughout your journey.
